Job Summary:

As an Technical Pre-Sales / Applicaiton Engineer, you will part of the local field Pre-Sales organization, working with Altair’s Electronic System Design (ESD) Simulation & Electromagnetic (High-Frequency  & Low-Frequency ) Simulation Solutions portfolio, operating in the Aerospace & Defense, Automotive, Semiconductor and Electronic and High-Tech.
In your role you will be helping companies to accelerate their product design and increase time to market by serving as the primary technical consultant responsible for actively driving and managing the technical evaluation and deployment of the various Altair’s applications.

In this position you will report to the Israel and South-Africa Country Manager and operates in these regions.

What You Will Do:

  • Become a specialist and trusted advisor in the use Altair’s technologies.
  • Support the various use of the technologies in from PCBs development, wireless connectivity, Antenna Design & Placement, EMC/EMI, and more.
  • Analyze technical needs, requirements. and current engineering workflows
  • Work closely with customers to qualify opportunities and propose best practices
  • Collaborate with Altair’s Technical Pre-Sales, Support, Product Specialist, Engineering, QA, Marketing and Sales teams and other functions within Altair.
  • Perform Pre & Post-Sales support, including demos, evaluations, software benchmarking and proof of concepts
  • Prepare and deliver products presentations and demonstrations for customer-facing activities
  • Support our customers with remote and on-site visits to ensure product adoption.
  • “Voice of the customer” – Providing direction to R&D teams on areas for product improvement.
  • Actively work your customer base (Existing and new customers) within your territory to strengthen relationships and create new ones
  • Engage with customers’ stakeholders such as Technical Engineering Users, Managers & other.
  • Cover local and global markets, in multi-language and cultural diversity.

What You Will Need:


Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics
2-5 years of proven experience in Software Pre-Sales and/or Customer-Support/Customer Success.
A thorough understanding of electromagnetic concepts
Understanding of Computational Electromagnetic methods
Experience with simulation tools such as Feko, HFSS, CST or XFDTD.
Experience in antenna design and EMC/EMI applications
Ability to collaborate with all levels of technical users and management
Excellent communication skills – Verbal, written and presentation – Hebrew and English
Exceptional problem-solving skills
Excellent presentation skills
Willingness to travel


AdvantageA Master’s (or PhD) in Electrical Engineering or related subject
Familiar with A&D and Military industries
